Minju Cho Helps Stop Arrests of Cambodian Refugees

Fellow Minju Cho (’18) helped draft a successful application for a temporary restraining order that blocks Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s practice of rounding up Cambodian refugees without notice, requiring it to provide 14 days’ notice before detaining Cambodians with deportation orders. The TRO was discussed in AsAmNews (“Judge Temporarily Halts Surprise Arrests of Up to 2,000 Cambodian Refugees,” Jan. 4). “We are happy the court has temporarily stopped ICE from tearing apart Cambodian families, but this is just the beginning,” Minju said. “We will keep fighting until all Cambodian community members are safe from unconstitutional detention and deportation.”
