Former Fellow Catherine Powell (’94) co-authored a post for the Council on Foreign Relations’ website about a recent roundtable the organization held regarding the need for considering gender when debating domestic violence-based asylum and family separation ("Bringing a Gender Lens to the Immigration Debate," June 24). "A central insight from the roundtable was that the debate on immigration shifted when photos of children being taken away from their parents began appearing in media, including social media feeds," Catherine wrote. Catherine presided over the panel, whose participants included former Fellow Sandra Park (’03).
