Former Fellow Chaumtoli Huq (’99), maker of the 2017 documentary “Sramik Awaaz” (Worker Voices), was quoted in a JACOBIN article on workers’ dissatisfaction with the Bangladesh Accord on Fire and Building Safety, which seeks to address problems within the Bangladesh garment industry exposed by the Rana Plaza factory collapse in 2013 (“Never Forget the Rana Plaza Massacre,” Aug. 11). “The workers I interviewed in my documentary were very clear in what they think needs to happen — it wasn’t renew the Accord, it was put a union in my factory,” Chaumtoli said.
