Former Fellow Vivek Sankaran (’01), the director of the Child Advocacy Law Clinic and the Child Welfare Appellate Clinic at the University of Michigan Law School, wrote a column for The Chronicle of Social Change about his work representing parents in child protection cases (“Beyond Counsel: What Lawyers Can Mean to Parents,” Jan. 2). “Providing compassion and hope to families ... is as important as any motion I might file or any question I might ask in a courtroom,” Sankaran said.
